Whether it’s the sustainably harvested poplar from the U.S. or warp-resistant Ayous wood from managed forests in Africa, wood drapery hardware is easily the most versatile of materials. It’s like a blank canvas, easily customizable for traditional and modern designs including fluted, smooth, rope, square and grooved pole styles. Wooden poles can also be spliced for longer lengths, and cut to specific angles for curves, arches, bay windows and mitered returns.
And, while mitred returns are quite popular, for many designs (modern included) the addition of a strong finial in a fabulous finish (see some of ours here) may be the ticket to a complete approach for the window treatments.
Wood hardware (including those less-than-sexy rings, brackets and sockets) can take on paint, faux effect and stains so readily, it is the best mashup of precision function and decorative accessory a designer can spec.
L&A obviously offers high-design choices in wood and metal for drapery hardware, but the key here is to create looks of distinction, not something you could grab at a big-box store. The best designers make the details work for the entire room … maybe it’s time to make your style statement today.
