The possibilities can seem endless when you’re planning and designing your window treatments. At L&A we completely understand which is why we have professional staff with decades of service; partnering with designers and institutions for fine design success.
While you can place an order many ways, typically designers order via:
- Telephone. An option that accounts for about 95% of our estimates and works well if you’re new to L&A or if we already have some history and you know specifically what you need. This site, and documents (see our Downloads Center for catalogs and technical guides) can be very helpful for formulating your plan and order estimate. Our Inside Sales staff will ask a bunch of questions, discuss options and needs, and talk you through setting up an order and providing written confirmation.
- Online/Email. Using a combination of our main Contact form (where you can also upload documents) followed by email can be effective again, if you have very specific needs and/or have worked with us before. There can be a lot of variables, so the more you outline in your request, the more we can tailor the estimate to your specifications.
- On-Site Appointment. While not necessary, being together to review questions, opinions, construction drawings, measurements and samples can save time and bring clarity. We can come to your offices, meet on a job site or conference here.
As you can imagine, the possibilities seem endless, but here are a few basics to consider:
For Drapery Hardware:
- Scope of project – one window, 10 windows or whole house
- Measurements – we’ll need to know width and height of windows in addition to amount of wall space flanking them for adequate stack-back and room for finials.
- Rods & Tracks — profile (smooth, fluted, squared or grooved) function (full-round, traversing), sizes (diameter) and lengths. Note: if we’re automating tracks will be selected based upon type of motor and operation.
- Finials or Mitred Returns – There are options galore here depending on style, so start with identifying what you most want (we recommend viewing the JLA Look+Book) and we’ll explore your options together.
- Accessories — Important considerations here as we’re exploring brackets, rings and tiebacks. You can go decorative or “hidden” with your brackets and traversing set-ups. Highly recommend you visit the Accessories page to learn more.
For Draperies:
